Parecoxib Sodium Chemical Properties

Use

The Drug Parecoxib Sodium Is Very Helpful for Pain, Inflammation and Fever Problems. It Can Selectively Inhibit and Reduce the Formation of Prostaglandins in Tissues, Including Endothelial Tissues, But Has No Effect on Platelet Thromboxane. Parecoxib Sodium Is Generally Used Clinically for the Treatment of Acute Pain After Moderate or Severe Surgery.

Mechanism

Parecoxib Is the Prodrug of Valdecoxib, Which Can Selectively Inhibit Cyclooxygenase-2 (Cox-2), Inhibit the Conversion of Arachidonic Acid to Prostaglandin (Pg), Inhibit Pg Synthesis, Thereby Exerting It Has Analgesic and Anti-Inflammatory Effects, But the Inhibitory Effect on Cox-1 Is Not Obvious. Therefore, While Exerting Analgesic and Anti-Inflammatory Effects, It Does Not Affect the Gastrointestinal Mucosa, Platelets and Renal Function.
