Uses and Synthesis of Isonicotinamide

Introduction

Isonicotinamide is a pyridine derivative containing an amide functional group. Amide functional groups are a very important class of functional groups in organic compounds. Many natural compounds, pharmaceutical intermediates and high value-added fine chemicals contain amide functional groups.

Preparation

100 mg of ferric oxide, 100 mg of cobalt oxide and 100 mg of manganese dioxide (mass percentage in the mixture: 4.6%), 60 mg of 4-cyanopyridine (mass percentage in the mixture: 0.91%), and 200 uL of water (mass percentage in the mixture: 3.0%) were added to 6 g of tert-amyl alcohol and mixed evenly; the mixture was reacted at 80° C. for 24 hours, the conversion rate of 4-cyanopyridine was 99.0%, and the selectivity of the corresponding 4-pyridinecarboxamide was 99.0%.

Application

Isonicotinamide is a white crystal and can be used as an intermediate for cephalosporin drugs.
