Physical properties: Colorless or white crystals, deliquescent, melting point 170°C (decomposition), density 1.86 g/cm³.
Solubility: Readily soluble in water (329 g/L, 20°C), slightly soluble in ethanol and methanol.
Stability: Stable at room temperature, but decomposes easily when heated; 8% aqueous solution can explosively decompose when heated to 90°C. Strong reducing agent, reacts vigorously with oxidants.
