Structural characteristics: Glycerol ether compounds, containing ether bonds, diol hydroxyl groups and hydrophobic alkyl chains.
Functional characteristics and mechanism of action
Anti-corrosion enhancer
By reducing the surface tension of microbial cell membranes and enhancing the permeability of traditional preservatives (such as phenoxyethanol and parabens), their usage can be reduced by 30-50%
Moisturizing skin care agent
Containing hydroxyl structures, it has excellent water retention capacity, enhancing the moisture and skin feel of skin care products (essence, face cream, sunscreen), and solving problems such as stickiness and whitening of creams and lotions.
Deodorizing and fragrance-fixing agent
Inhibit the reproduction of Gram-positive bacteria and reduce the odor of sweat;
Fix the top and middle notes of the essence, extend the lingering fragrance time and reduce the amount of fragrance used.
"No additives" anti-corrosion property:
Ingredients that are not included in the traditional preservative directory (such as the 51 preservatives in China's "Cosmetics Safety Technical Specifications") can be labeled as "no additives".
Applicable products: Lotion, cream, shampoo, deodorant, sunscreen, makeup.
Recommended dosage: 0.3-1.0% (for cream types), ≤0.6% (for aerosol deodorants).
Addition method:
Oil phase addition (resistant to 120°C high temperature)
Added during the water phase dispersion (temperature < 80°C) or cooling stage (40°C).
Compounding plan:
When compounded with phenoxyethanol (the antibacterial synergy is enhanced by more than 50%);
It is combined with polyols (such as 1, 3-butanediol) to enhance water solubility
The "Standard" stipulates 51 types of preservatives, which can be labeled as "no added" ingredients.
Toxicity data:
Oral LD₅₀ in rats > 2000 mg/kg (low toxicity);
Skin irritation: 50% diluted solution shows no significant irritation.
Ecological safety: Strong biodegradability, no risk of environmental accumulation.
Risk Warning:
Irritating to the eyes (H318 warning);
Sensitive skin needs to be tested for tolerance.
