1. Perfumes and high-end fragrances
Core applications
Iconic floral notes:
Hydroxycitronellal is one of the most successful synthetic fragrances that simulates the natural lily of the valley aroma, accounting for more than 60% of modern floral fragrance formulas (such as classic perfumes such as Chanel No.5 and Dior J'adore).
Triple role of perfume:
Main fragrance: Used alone, it can build the fragrance skeleton of white flowers such as lily of the valley, magnolia, and lily.
Blending agent: Soften the sharpness of rose and jasmine and enhance the roundness of the fragrance.
Fixative: Combined with woody fragrance (such as cedar) and musk, it can extend the fragrance retention time (up to 8-12 hours).

Functional application
Care products:
Shampoo/shower gel: Add 0.1-0.5% to provide a long-lasting fresh feeling after washing (covering the chemical smell of sulfate surfactants).
Technical advantages: Acid and alkali resistance (stable at pH 3-10), not easy to hydrolyze in soap base.
Skin care products:
Cream/lotion: Concentration ≤0.05% gives a light floral fragrance while inhibiting oil oxidation and rancidity (weak antioxidant).
Household cleaners:
Add 0.01-0.1% to glass cleaners and softeners to neutralize the irritating smell of ammonia.
IFRA strictly restricts use (49th edition standard):
Leave-on skin care products 0.5% Avoid skin sensitization (EC3 value = 2.5%)
Rinse-off products 2.0% Short-term contact reduces risk
Children's products Prohibited High transdermal absorption rate
